Licensing
Licensing schemes
The licence is non-concurrent: the number of seats equals the number of active users.
01Licence
Structure of the licence
The licence is supplied as an xml file that states:
- the owner of the licence (the name of the organisation, the name of the licensee);
- the maximum number of active users;
- the term of the licence (none for a perpetual licence);
- the version of the FossDoc server that the system works with;
- which modules of the system are included.
02Kinds of licences
Choose how to use it
01
Demo version
A trial licence for 6 months with no financial or contractual obligations. You can switch to a commercial licence without losing data.
02
Temporary licence
If the seats of the demo version are not enough, you can ask for a temporary licence for 50 or more users.
03
Commercial licence
Perpetual. The price consists of the cost of the server (modules, DBMS type, digital signature) and of the seats: the more seats, the lower the price per seat.
04
Rental
The same products; the licence is renewed with every rental payment. The price includes support with version updates.
03Purchase
How to buy the system
- Decide which modules you need.
- Choose the DBMS.
- State the number of active users, the need for a digital signature and for how many seats.
- Calculate the price: you can get a commercial offer by e-mail.
- Contact the manager about the contract.
04Updates
Version updates
- A commercial licence with a technical support contract: new versions and licences are free during the support.
- A commercial licence without a contract: free updates during the warranty period (6 months from the purchase); later, licences for new versions with a 50% discount on the current price for the same set of modules and seats.
- Rental: new versions and licences are free (included in the rental fee).
